Pricing FAQ
How will direct Pro licensing work?
The planned direct-license path uses a signed license file (~/.waspen/license.json) that verifies locally with no network call. Exact purchase terms, machine binding, subscriptions, and app-store behavior are still being validated before public pricing is finalized.
Will Pro be subscription or one-time?
Pro purchase options are being evaluated across direct signed licenses, monthly or annual subscriptions, and platform-managed purchases. The final answer may vary by channel because Apple, Microsoft, and direct sales each have different requirements.
Does the subscription auto-renew?
Yes for monthly and annual subscriptions. You can cancel anytime — your license remains valid until the end of the period you paid for. After that, Waspen gracefully falls back to Free tier limits. No data is deleted.
What happens when my Pro license expires (subscription)?
Waspen detects the expired license on next start and falls back to Free tier. Your data, Waspers, and configuration are all preserved. You can re-add a license file any time to restore Pro features. Nothing is deleted.
Is there a trial?
The Free tier is effectively a permanent trial — 50 Waspers with 3 rules each, 14-day incident history, starter job templates, and local AI chat are genuinely useful, not crippled. If you want access to Pro beta features while pricing is finalized, reach out.
How is Enterprise priced?
Enterprise is a custom subscription/contract path for organizations that need Waspen-Server pilots, fleet policy, support, and implementation help. SSO/OIDC, PostgreSQL, object storage, and deeper fleet management are roadmap or contract-scoped until validated in production deployments. Contact us to discuss your setup.
Can I use Waspen for commercial/work purposes on the Free tier?
Yes. The Free tier has no restrictions on commercial use. Monitor your work infrastructure, your consulting clients' servers, whatever you need — within the Free limits (50 Waspers, 3 rules each, 14-day history).
